A New Voyage

The Davis County Symphony is an all volunteer organization open to each and every musician 9th grade and older.

Mission

The Davis County Symphony has been formed with a vision that those who join will feel the “Spirit of Community”. The symphony creates an environment for those who participate whereby they can strive to engage, serve and inspire, as well as enhance their artistic lives and musical growth. It also provides a venue to share diverse talents and ideas and the opportunity to give back to the community through music and service as we create a feeling of family.

Rehearsals

The Davis County Symphony will hold rehearsals on Thursdays at the Grace Presbyterian Church 385 W Golden Ave, Layton (next to Crestview Elem.). Rehearsal for full orchestra will be from 7:00 pm to 8:50 pm. Please bring your own music stand!

Upcoming 2010 Events

Pops Concert - Sunday, June 13th @ 7:00pm - Ed Kenley Amphitheater

Location - 403 Wasatch Drive, Layton (just south of Layton High School)

Our Pops Concert will feature a variety of selections to include George Gershwin in Concert, music from the movie Titanic, A Salute to the Big Bands and many others! The performance is under the direction of Marie Crockett, Music Director, Shaun Davis, Assist. Music Director and Ted Zalkind, Guest Conductor.

1st Annual Davis County Symphony Salmon BBQ Fundraiser
Saturday, June 26, 2010 - 5:30-7:30 pm
Location - Lewis Park 275 E Lewis Park Dr (2750 S) in Bountiful

Prices for the dinner will be $14 for a chicken plate and $16 for a Salmon plate. Each plate also includes a baked potato and dessert. Part of the money collected will go towards paying for the food and the rest will go towards the Davis County Symphony funds. Tickets need to be sold ahead of time for this event and they will be available for 3 different serving times: 5:30, 6:00, and 6:30. Please invite your friends, family, co workers, and neighbors. There will be entertainment provided through out the evening by the Davis County Symphony String Ensemble, as well as other members of the symphony and their families! Halloween Concert - October 23rd @ 7:00 PM - Location TBD

Bring the whole family for a night of Halloween music as well as other light classics. We invite everyone to come in costume and enjoy trick-or-treating following the performance!
